Every year, Kigurumi Online organizes a workshop at the Anime North<\/a> convention in Toronto, Canada, introducing cosplayers to the world of animegao kigurumi. If an attendee also pays a fee (check the convention workshop list<\/a> for the current year’s cost), this workshop also includes building a beginner mask! (There is no cost to attend as an observer.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the workshop, we first provide attendees some background about animegao kigurumi, including its history, known makers, and fabrication methods. Then, with the assistance of volunteer staff, paid attendees will build their own customized starter mask. Mask options include choosing: (1) eye shapes and colors, (2) eyelash and eyebrow shape, and (3) wig style and color. We also provide padding for the inside and will help with fit adjustments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Participants then walk out with a mask they can wear around the rest of the convention! Below is an example of our previous 2022 design\u2014we released a new design at Anime North 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
